All-In-One-Quilt-Block
Date: March 24, 2011, 12:30 pm - 3:00 pmProgram: Spring 2011 Daytime Workshops
Description
In this workshop you will learn with simple hand-sewing stitches how to piece together and quilt a block all at the same time. You will also learn how to join the blocks together to create a quilt of any desired size. This technique is a great way to introduce children to sewing. It also adapts easily to the sewing machine.
Instructors: Jane Broaddus and Debby Slavitt
Daytime Workshops teach supportive, hands-on art project ideas to after-school providers, teachers, and arts programmers. During each session participants make one or more art pieces with reused materials, working from numerous examples, providing themselves with templates for teaching art to their students. Each class ends with discussion about how the art pieces could be adapted and integrated into each participants own teaching situation. Reuse art projects also provide a great way to save money on art supplies and teach students how to make art with the materials they already have in their home.
Shopping appointments are available after the workshops at 3:30pm and 4:00pm
