Volunteer Week 2007

5/14/07

Volunteer Week 2007 at Materials for the Arts May 14th - May 18th

On Monday, May 14th, MFTA was host to employees from Goldman Sachs.  Eleven volunteers rolled up their sleeves, pulled on gloves and filled buckets with soapy water.  Their project was to clean the metal shelves starting at the front of the warehouse and going all the way to the back.   Through their combined effort the project was completed in record time!

On Wednesday, May 16th MFTA hosted a pizza party for its "Dedicated" Volunteers from YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities and the Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC).  The PIzza Party was held in appreciation of their countless hours of hard work.  YAI has been volunteering at MFTA since January 2001 and AHRC has been volunteering since December 2005.

MFTA hosted volunteers from Citibank on Friday May 18th.  Six volunteers folded and straightened the most popular area of the warehouse...the fabric section.
