Materials for the Arts and Tekserve are co-sponsoring a reuse initiative to get lightly-used electronics into the welcoming hands of NYC Department of Education classroom students and arts and cultural programs in-need throughout the five boroughs.

For every donation of readily reusable electronics, consumers will receive an acknowledgement letter from NYC Department of Cultural Affairs for their tax deduction. Consumers are encouraged to donate a full range of electronic devices such as computers, fax machines, copiers, DVD or VCR players, radios, cell phones, cameras, and stereo equipment. All computers must be less than four years old. All desktop computers must have a complete set of keyboard, mouse, monitor and CPU. Donated equipment must be in immediate working condition, and computers must come with operation systems already installed.

Tekserve is located at 119 West 23rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. There is a drop box at Customer Service, at the front of the store. Donors electronically submit their contact information and the value of their donation. A tax letter will be sent to the Donor upon confirmation of functioning equipment.
